Initial Consultation

At your first visit, photographs of your teeth and face and digital panoramic x-rays will be taken. The doctor will then carry out a thorough clinical examination. This will enable us to establish if treatment is indicated, how long it may take and to discuss the different treatment options available. The cost of different treatment options will also be discussed. You will be able to look at these photos and x-rays when you go home by viewing them through our secure on line portal.

Diagnostic Records

Once initial consultation is complete and if treatment is indicated, full diagnostic records will need to be taken which include models of the teeth and a lateral cephalometric xray. These records allow the doctor to accurately determine how treatment should proceed.

Regular Appointments

If you are suitable to be treated with Invisalign and you decide to choose Invisalign as your method of treatment, a digital scan or impressions will be taken to commence your treatment process. The appointment to have your Invisalign aligners fitted normally takes 30 to 45 minutes and Dr Keenan will then see you every 6 to 8 weeks to monitor your treatment progress and give you new aligners.

If you are having clear ceramic braces, traditional braces or lingual braces then the first appointment when you get your appliances (braces, expanders, etc.) usually takes 1 to 2 hours. You’ll then see us at regular intervals 4 to 10 weeks apart for an adjustment, which takes 15 to 30 minutes. Patients are seen by appointment only.
